Policies and Procedures:

How to Prepare for Your DNA Testing Appointment:

  • The only people that should be present for the appointment are the parties being tested.
  • Refrain from eating, drinking (even water), smoking, or chewing gum. Do not use mouthwash, toothpaste, or any oral hygiene products 30 minutes prior to your appointment. This helps prevent contamination of the sample.

Bring a Valid ID (for Legal Tests)

  • For court-admissible tests, you will need to present a valid form of identification (e.g., driver’s license, state ID, or passport). Also, your photo will be taken to submit with your test. (Photo not required for non-legal tests.)
  • Ensure that all individuals being tested (e.g., child and alleged father) are available at the scheduled time.

Be Ready for Documentation

  • You may need to sign consent forms or provide additional information related to the test. Have any necessary paperwork or information on hand.

Inform Us of Any Special Circumstances

  • Let us know in advance if you have any special requirements or if additional participants will be tested.

By following these steps, you help ensure that your DNA sample is clean and free from contaminants, leading to accurate and efficient results. Let us know if you have any further questions about preparing for your appointment!
